We launch our adventure in Laos, the least developed and visited country of Indochina. After touring markets, temples and royal palaces in charming Luang Prabang and the Laotian capital of Vientiane, we enter Vietnam through the richly historic city of Hanoi. We sail through the dreamlike limestone plinths of Halong Bay, then transfer to the ancient imperial city of Hue, where we take a boat trip on the Perfume River and explore the “Forbidden Purple City.” Before ending our sojourn in Vietnam, we immerse ourselves in the hubbub of Saigon and explore the Mekong Delta – a patchwork of mangrove swamps, jungle-covered Khmer temples and golden beaches. Our trip concludes in Cambodia at the splendid Angkor Wat, one of the wonders of the ancient world.
