Warmth not only exudes from the dunes, but from the hospitality of the Rajasthanis we encounter in the luxury hotels and restaurants, the remarkable landmarks and the remote villages we visit.?Our adventure extends into the bordering region of Uttar Pradesh, specifically Agra, where we are treated to the plush Agra Fort and the superb Taj Mahal. Participants on Snow Lion's late October-early November departure spend three days at the annual Pushkar Camel Fair. In the late autumn, as the desert air cools, thousands of camel traders and religious pilgrims converge on the whitewashed village of Pushkar. Camel races, women attired in riotously vibrant skirts and scarves, dancing, acrobatics and handicrafts inundate the tawny sands.
